The Ribar family house was donated to the Karlovac Municipal Museum, together with its furnishings and numerous documents connected to the life and work of members of the family: Ivo Lola, Jurica and Dr Ivan Ribar (approximately 220 items). Most of the documentation, displayed in the permanent exhibition, was connected to the pre-war and war period, and a separate part was connected to Dr Ivan Ribar's work in the aftermath, until 1964. The items are inventoried as a part of the Karlovac Municipal Museum.
The Ribar family collection was situated on the first floor. A collection of weapons from the 19th and 20th centuries was stored in the attic, while the local community, a surgery and post office occupied ground floor.
From October 1991 to August 1995, Vukmanic was on the occupied territory, inaccessible to museum workers.

Protection:

A museum worker from Vukmanic had managed to save fifteen items and evacuate them to Karlovac. The building and most of the collection had remained in occupied Vukmanic without protection.
INFORMATION ON THE MEMORIAL HOUSE DURING THE OCCUPATION:
* According to the information from October 4th 1991, when Vukmanic was occupied, the building was damaged during the fighting, and museum holdings were plundered.
* During the occupation the Militia was housed in the building.
* Shelling of the immediate vicinity of the building during the occupation brought additional damage to the building.
After liberation on August 5th 1995, information received beforehand was confirmed. The building was found to be heavily devastated and most of the holdings stolen.

Building damage:

The roof truss and facade of the building were damaged by heavy machine-gun fire and shell splinters. All the doors and windows were broken, parquet floors and two stoves were torn out and stolen. Electric installations and bathroom fittings were also destroyed.

Structure damage:

Most of the stored and exhibited holdings were not found in the building. The Ribar family collection, the collection of weapons from the 19th and 20th centuries and ethnographic material has disappeared.
The head has been cut out from an oil painting, a portrait of Dr Ivan Ribar painted by Cata Dujsin Ribar.
Missing and damaged holdings have been registered as a part of the damage suffered by the Karlovac Municipal Museum.
* In May of 1997, a part of the furniture from the Ribar collection was found in a private house in Vojnic. The damaged furniture has been returned and is now stored at the Karlovac Municipal Museum.
